Therapy in Charlotte

Somatic & Holistic Therapy for High-Functioning, High-Anxiety Adults

Blue Sage Counseling & Wellness offers depth-oriented, somatic psychotherapy for professionals in Charlotte, North Carolina who are outwardly capable, accomplished, and highly self-aware—yet internally overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck.

Many of our clients are high-achieving adults who think deeply, reflect often, and have already “done the work.” And yet, anxiety, burnout, emotional reactivity, or a constant sense of pressure continues beneath the surface.

We specialize in somatic therapy, anxiety therapy, and trauma-informed psychotherapy for high-functioning adults in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a focus on sustainable nervous-system regulation rather than short-term coping.

WHO THIS THERAPY IS FOR

This practice is designed for adults who are thoughtful, motivated, and self-aware—but tired of managing everything on their own.

This may be a good fit if you:

•Appear calm, capable, or successful, yet feel internally tense or on edge

•Experience chronic anxiety, overthinking, or difficulty fully resting

•Understand why you feel the way you do, but still struggle to change it

•Feel stuck in high-performance or survival patterns such as over-functioning, people-pleasing, or control

•Are seeking anxiety therapy for professionals that goes beyond insight alone

Many clients come to Blue Sage after realizing that awareness hasn’t been enough—and that lasting change requires working with the body and nervous system, not just the mind.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF THERAPY

A Nervous-System–Informed Approach

High-functioning anxiety is rarely a lack of insight. More often, it reflects a nervous system that has learned to stay “on” for a very long time.

Our work integrates:

•Somatic and nervous-system–informed therapy

•Trauma-informed, depth-oriented psychotherapy

•Relational work that prioritizes safety, pacing, and consistency

Rather than pushing for quick fixes or constant optimization, therapy here focuses on helping your system shift out of survival mode and into a more regulated, sustainable way of living.

OUR STRUCTURE

Our Structure: The Monthly Care Plan for Ongoing Therapy

Meaningful neuro-somatic change does not happen in isolation. It requires predictability, consistency, and a strong therapeutic container.

To support this depth of work, Blue Sage operates on a Monthly Care Plan model rather than session-by-session therapy.

By moving away from transactional appointments, we ensure that therapy extends beyond the individual session and into your daily life through integrated support.

The Monthly Care Plan includes:

Dedicated individual therapy sessions with consistent, protected time

Biweekly integrative skills & support group, focused on nervous-system regulation and real-life application

Access to a curated resource library, including somatic tools, reflections, and psychoeducation between sessions

Stability and continuity, supported by a 6-month commitment designed to foster trust and measurable progress (learn about our 6 month roadmap here)

This model is especially supportive for people who tend to intellectualize, over-function, or push themselves beyond capacity—and are ready to do something different.
